GEICO Employees Raise Funds for Survivors of Sexual Assault PDF Print E-mail

GEICO recently held an in-house fundraiser for RCASA.  Their goal, to raise awareness and funds to serve survivors of sexual assault and abuse.   In the spirit of the Demin Day Campaign, Geico employees paid $2.00 to wear jeans to work.  Their collective efforts raised $1022 to support survivors of violence and education to end sexually violent crimes.

What non-profits would you miss if they disappeared?  Stop in, volunteer and donate.  Your donations are what keep non-profits and the services they provide going.  If half the population donated $10 a month, it would generate over 20 billion, just think what 3/4th the population's donations could generate.  Non-profits use 100% of donations to serve and support services for victims.

RCASA needs your support to keep resources for victims of sexual violence and abuse.

$1,500  ensures counseling for a child for three months.

$500  will fund a month of individual counseling for an adult.

$376  will provide crisis services for one victim.

Donations should be mailed to:

Rappahannock Council Against Sexual Assault
2601 Princess Anne Street, Suite 102, Fredericksburg, VA 22401

Other Ways to Donate:

GEICO will send donations to RCASA for each quote given.  If you would like to get a quote and secure a donation to RCASA: call 1-800-342-9070 and provide referral code:  072003

We will get $15 for each quote they get for the following (make sure they mention the referral code for each quote, because they will talk with different people to get the auto quote vs. the home quote, etc.):
  • Home
  • Auto
  • Motorcycle
  • Commercial

We will be able to take advantage of GEICO’s charitable matching gift benefit to turn $15 into $30.

eBay Giving Works

eBay Giving Works is a program designed to help nonprofits.  When shopping on eBay, look for the blue and gold ribbon.  Any seller whose site features this ribbon will donate a percentage of their profits to a nonprofit of their choice.  There are two ways to donate to RCASA through the eBay Giving Works Program:  1) go to this link to see which sellers are currently donating profits to RCASA.  When you purchase one of these items, a portion of the profit goes to RCASA.  2) Become a seller that supports RCASA.  Follow the instructions on eBay's website here to become a seller.  Be sure to search for Rappahannock Council Against Sexual Assault to find our organization.

How will you leave your legacy?

You can make a major impact in helping us to continue and expand our mission. Despite your income level or the size of your estate, your planned gift can make a significant difference to the Rappahannock Council Against Sexual Assault. The simplest and most common way is to provide for RCASA by making a gift through your will. Gifts by will can be made in the form of specific amounts of cash, property, a percentage of the overall estate, or a portion of the residue of the estate. The following sheet outlines ten things that you can do today to leave a legacy. Please consider making a planned gift today and including the Rappahannock Council Against Sexual Assault. At such time as you notify us of your intentions your name will be prominently be displayed at the Center as a recognized member of the RCASA Legacy Society.
